SYSTEM ERROR: WAEC SUSPENDS ACCESS TO 2025 RESULTS FOR URGENT REVIEW
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily suspended access to the 2025 WASSCE results portal for students due to technical issues with a new system introduced to prevent cheating.
In a statement issued on Thursday, August 7, 2025, WAEC explained that the issues stemmed from a new method called paper serialization. This method was used in four important subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics. It was designed to ensure fairer exams by reducing cheating. However, after the results were released, WAEC discovered some glitches that led to inaccuracies in the results.
To correct this issue, the result portal has been temporarily shut down while WAEC works swiftly to resolve the problem. Candidates who have already checked their results are advised to re-check them after 24 hours.
WAEC stated “The Council, being a responsive body that is sensitive to fairness and professionalism, has decided to urgently review and correct the technical glitches that led to the situation. As a result, access to the WASSCE (SC) 2025 results has been temporarily denied on the result checker portal.”
Meanwhile, the Council has expressed its heartfelt apologies for any trouble caused and has promised to uphold high standards, fairness, and openness in all matters related to examinations.
We will keep you updated immediately once the results are accessible again after the revalidation process is completed.
