  • Compensation: ₦50,000 – ₦80,000 per month (based on experience and skill level)
  • Hours: 6 hours per week — 2 hours on-site, 4 hours remote

A forward-thinking training institute is seeking a passionate and experienced Graphics Design Instructor/Trainer (Part-Time & Hybrid) to join our team and inspire the next generation of creative professionals.

This part-time hybrid role requires 6 hours per week — 4 hours remote/online (2 hours each for 2 days) and 2 hours on-site for in-person training delivery.

As a Graphics Design Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, hands-on training in graphic design principles and software tools.

You will mentor aspiring designers, guiding them through in-depth lessons, practical projects, and real-world assignments to prepare them for successful careers in the design industry.

Requirement:

  • Must reside near the Egbeda/Ipaja area. This hybrid, part-time position involves 2 hours on-site each week and 4 hours of remote work (2 hours each for 2 days), totaling 6 hours per week.

Responsibilities of the Graphics Design Instructor/Trainer at Apex Consults

  • Deliver Engaging Training: Provide structured and interactive lessons on graphic design concepts, including layout, color theory, typography, brand identity, and visual storytelling.
  • Develop Course Materials: Create and maintain up-to-date lesson plans, project briefs, and assessments aligned with current industry standards and design trends.
  • Hands-on Mentorship: Guide students in mastering popular design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite—Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) through live demos, project work, and critique sessions.
  • Real-World Application: Offer insights into the entire design process, from concept development to final output, including print and digital deliverables.
  • Foster a Creative Environment: Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation among students, helping them build a strong design portfolio.
  • Keep Content Current: Collaborate with curriculum developers and stay informed about emerging design trends and tools to keep course content fresh and relevant.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback, helping them refine their technique and develop a professional approach.
  • Technical Support: Assist students with troubleshooting software or project-related challenges, helping them gain problem-solving skills.
  • Extracurricular Engagement: Participate in workshops, design challenges, and webinars, enabling students to apply their skills in real-world or simulated scenarios.
  • Student Support: Offer guidance outside of regular class sessions as needed, ensuring each learner’s continued development and success.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent industry experience.
  • Design Software Expertise: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant software.
  • Strong Design Foundations: Deep understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and composition.
  • Portfolio & Demonstrated Skill: Proven track record in creating professional design work for various mediums, including print and digital.
  • Communication & Teaching Ability: Excellent communication skills with the ability to break down complex design techniques for students of varying skill levels.
  • Teaching/Mentorship Experience: Prior experience teaching, mentoring, or training in a design-focused environment is a significant advantage.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Passion for Empowerment: Enthusiastic about guiding and inspiring students, with a desire to make a meaningful impact on their learning journey.
  • Knowledge of Emerging Tools: Familiarity with other design platforms, UI/UX tools, or motion graphics software is a plus.
