FESSU CLARIFIES 2024 STATE BURSARIES AND SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION PROCESS: DIGITALIZATION EFFORTS UNDERWAY, URGES STUDENTS PATIENCE AND SUPPORT
The Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union (FESSU), led by the National President, Comrade Benjamin Adekunle Onileowo, is pleased to address the students of Ekiti State across board regarding the highly anticipated 2024 Bursaries and Scholarships application process. We understand the eagerness and expectations surrounding this significant opportunity, and we wish to provide clarity and updates on the current status.
1. Pending Application Process:
At present, the application process for the 2024 Bursaries and Scholarships is pending due to the ongoing activities and efforts within the Ekiti State Ministry of Education aimed at digitalizing the entire application process, in response to our advocacy and request for a more efficient and student-friendly system.
2. Digitalization Efforts:
The initiative to digitalize the application and disbursement processes is demanded to enhance accessibility and convenience for all Ekiti State students across the country. With the new system when implemented, students will be able to apply for bursaries and scholarships online, eliminating the need to travel to Ekiti State for manual applications and the associated stress of obtaining signatures. This digital transformation is expected to mitigate the risks and constraints linked with the previous manual process.
3. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Ekiti State Ministry of Education under the exemplary leadership of the Honorable Commissioner, Dr. Kofoworola Aderiye, for their dedication to this cause. We also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Special Adviser on Tertiary Education to the Governor, Prof. Akeem Azeez, and the Executive Secretary of the Ekiti State Scholarship Board, Mrs. Bukola Faluyi. Their ongoing efforts to fully digitalize the bursary and scholarship application process are highly commendable and Ekiti State Students are in solidarity with them.
4. In light of these developments, we urge all Ekiti State students, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to remain calm and patient with the Government of Ekiti State to ensure that the necessary infrastructure, including the development of a user-friendly web portal, is put in place. This portal will streamline the application process, making it more accessible and efficient for all.
We call on the student community to support these efforts, as the digitalization of the bursary and scholarship processes will ultimately benefit everyone involved. Your cooperation and understanding during this transition period are crucial to the successful implementation of this new system.
FESSU remains committed to advocating for the best interests of Ekiti State students. We will continue to provide updates on the progress of the digitalization efforts and the subsequent commencement of the 2024 Bursaries and Scholarships application process. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
