Hardship: FCC Distributes Agricultural Equipment, Vehicles To Farmers, Others In Anambra
To mitigate the effect of current economic hardship on the people the encourage farming and agricultural related businesses in the rural communities in Anambra, the Federal Cooperative College Oji River, has distributed farm equipment and vehicles said to worth over N200 million to cooperators in the agricultural industry, others in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The event which was said to have been facilitated by Honourable Chuka Ezenwune, former State House of Assembly member representing Idemili South attracted a large number of people, among who included men, women and youths in agricultural value chain industry.
Chairman and Coordinator of the event, Honourable Patrick Nwanyaku, who gave a breakdown of the equipment and vehicles distributed said thirty-one motorcycles, thirteen tricycles, twenty water pumping machines, twenty cassava pounding machines, twenty-two grains grinding machines, wheelbarrows among other equipment worth over two hundred million naira were distributed to the people at the event which took place at St. Paul School field, Ebenesi Nnobi on Thursday.
“This event has nothing to do with politics. It was done by the Federal Cooperative College, Oji River in collaboration with Honorable Chuka Ezenwune, former member representing Idemili South constituency in the state House of Assembly. The aim is to encourage the people in their economic endeavour especially, in agricultural value chain industry. We urge them to make good use of the equipment and vehicles,” Nwanyaku said.
